LOOK: Groups/Standings 2018 Asian Games Basketball Competition

Eight (8) out of the twelve (12) players of the Gilas Pilipinas players that will be representing our country in the 2018 Asian Games basketball competition are all coming from the TNT Katropa of the Philippine Basketball Association in the PBA.

Since TNT was already eliminated in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, they can already start preparing for the Asian Games that will be held this coming August 14 to September 1, 2018.

The only problem is, 4 out of the 8 players coming from TNT were also involved in the basket-brawl between the Gilas Pilipinas and Australia that happened last July 2 in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers 3rd window at Philippine Arena, in Bulacan. And these 4 are also waiting for the sanctions that FIBA is expected to release by the end of July. So if the rest of the team are going to go practicing with these 4 and they are going to be banned by the end of this month, it is going to be a big blow on their preparation for the 2018 Asian Games but also to the Gilas team that will be participating in the 4th window of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers this coming September. And if the banning is far more worst these 4 players will also not be allowed to play on TNT in the PBA.

On the other hand, here are the 4 groups for the 2018 Asian Games Basketball competition. There is a total of 15 participating federations, namely: South Korea, Mongolia, Indonesia (host), Thailand, Iran, Philippines, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, Kazakhstan, and Palestine.
