We are updating our first post regarding the Ginebra scenarios as we missed some computations for that particular article. See the updated scenarios below for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

LOOK: Ginebra Scenario Updates Elimination and Quarterfinal Round

1. All Ginebra need to do is to win their last game against GlobalPort to avoid complications and enter the quarterfinals straight.

2. But a loss will pull Ginebra down to the 8th spot tied with Phoenix with the win-loss record of 5-6 (assuming Phoenix won their last game against Alaska).

The 2nd scenario will happen if:

a. San Miguel beats Blackwater, and Magnolia beats NLEX on July 4.
b. Phoenix beats Alaska, and Barangay Ginebra loses to GlobalPort on July 6.
c. Magnolia beats San Miguel on July 7.

Based on that result, the team standings will end up like this:

5. San Miguel - 6-5
6. GlobalPort - 6-5
7. Magnolia - 6-5
8. Barangay Ginebra - 5-6
8. Phoenix - 5-6

Since Ginebra and Phoenix are tied up at 8th spot, they will have a do-or-die game. The winner will advance to the next round and the loser will be eliminated.

Therefore, all Ginebra need to do is win their last game against GlobalPort.
