For this tutorial, I will post an updated way to add and submit sitemaps for your Blogger website or BlogSpot. Blogger website means, that you redirected your Blogger domain to a top-level domain (TLD) you bought on GoDaddy, BlueHost, or Namecheap. Blogger BlogSpot is a Blogger sub-domain with a blogspot.com on it.

Either way, the same steps can followed as long as you are under the Blogger platform. I will both show you how to add sitemap for a BlogSpot sub-domain and a TLD below.

Table of Contents:
👉 Add/submit sitemap to Blogger's first 3000 posts
👉 Add/submit another sitemap for the next 3001 - 3150 posts
👉 And another sitemap for the next 3151 - 3300 posts

How to add and submit Sitemaps for Blogger or Blogspot in Google Search Console

Unlike other blogs that will require you to a submit a single sitemap that will only occupy the first 500 posts of your blog, the sitemap that you are going to submit is already good for the first 3000 posts inside your Blogger. See the steps below.

1. First, you need to access the Google Search Console. Since you are already using Blogger, your account will be automatically created. Or, I guessed you already knew the console before.

2. Inside your Google Search Console account, a window will appear for the Select property type. Select URL prefix. In the Enter URL, type your website's TLD or BlogSpot URL, then press the Continue button.

3. The console will automatically Verify your BlogSpot or website ownership. Just press the Go to Property button to continue.

4. Now, in your dashboard or menus in the left side of your screen, find the INDEX section and press Sitemaps.
5. In the Add a new sitemap, just type sitemap.xml and then press the Submit button.

6. A message saying: "Sitemap submitted successfully. Google will periodically process it and look for changes. You will be notified if anything goes wrong with it in the future." will appear. Just press the Got It link to proceed.

7. Under Submitted sitemaps, if you see that your sitemap.xml has an Unknown type, and Couldn't fetch status, do not worry, all you need to do is just Refresh (F5) your page.

8. After refreshing, your submitted sitemap has now a Sitemap type, a Success status and Discovered URLs.

9. And the good thing is, sitemap.xml (as I mentioned above) is already good for 3000 posts. So if you only have a hundred or even over 500 hundred posts, sitemap.xml is already enough for submission.

10. Done!

Additional Questions:

What if, I already have over 3000 posts inside my Blogger? Let's say 3077 posts. Do I need to submitted another sitemap?
Answer: Yes. All you need to do is follow the steps below.

👉 Divide 3000 posts by 150. So you got 20. Right?

👉 That only means that your sitemap.xml is already good for 20 sitemaps with 150 URLs on it.

👉 Meaning, your next sitemap will be page 21 that can only contain 150 URL's on it.

👉 Again, repeat the steps above starting from Step #4 to Step #5. But now, instead of typing just sitemap.xml, you should type the following format: sitemap.xml?page=21 and then press Submit.

👉 This sitemap will contain your posts from 3001 to 3150. So if exceed 3150, just another sitemap with the format: sitemap.xml?page=22 , this will now contain your next 150 URL's or from 3151 to 3300 posts.
