Gilas Pilipinas is already through the second round or the 4th, 5th, and 6th windows of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

The question is, who are we facing in the 4th, 5th, and 6th windows? Are we in a good condition to make it to the to the FINAL 7 (can be 8 if China makes it to the final 3 of their group) that will qualify to the FIBA World Cup 2019 in China?

As you can see, for the first round each team from each group will only face the teams within their group twice. But for the second round, top 3 teams from Group A will be facing the top 3 teams from Group C. The same goes for Group B and D. Gilas Pilipinas belongs to the Group B with Australia, Japan, and Chinese Taipei. And Group D includes Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, and Qatar.

Seeing the team standings of Group D, I think Iran, Kazakhstan, and Qatar are the future opponents of our Gilas Pilipinas but if Iraq can improve their plays then they might make it instead of Qatar.

On September 13, 2018, the 4TH window of the Asian Qualifiers will start. Then on November 18, 2018 - 5th window, and lastly on February 18, 2019 - the 6th window. Our Gilas Pilipinas will be facing the top 3 teams from Group D twice each.

IF Gilas Pilipinas will be ranked #2 until the end of the 3rd window, then the following will be their 4th, 5th and 6th windows schedules.

September 13, 2018: Iran vs Philippines (4th window)
September 16, 2018: Philippines vs Qatar/Iraq / (4th window)
November 30, 2018: Philippines vs Kazakhstan (5th window)
December 3, 2018: Philippines vs Iran (5th window)
February 21, 2019: Qatar/Iraq / vs Philippines (6th window)
February 24, 2019: Kazakhstan vs Philippines (6th window)

Examining the game schedules above, Gilas Pilipinas will start their 4TH window game with an away one against Group D top seed which is Iran. Then a 3 consecutive home games against Qatar/Iraq, Kazakhstan, and rematch with Iran. And the last 2 games which are in February 2019 are all going to be away games against Qatar/Iraq and Kazakhstan.

At the end of the all the windows or the 2nd round. The top 3 teams from each group along with the better placed fourth team will be qualified to FIBA World Cup 2019 in China. If China makes it to the top 4 teams in either group, then both fourth-placed teams will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Why? This is because every time a country hosts a FIBA event they are automatically qualified.
