For this tutorial I will teach you how to upgrade your SatLite Box by yourself. You do not need to go to the town where your dealer is to be able to do this. If your television is showing the upgrade message from SatLite, then, make sure to follow this tutorial so that you will be able to get all the channels and updates made by SatLite.

This tutorial will solve the SatLite message: "Upgrade your box to software vSulit. Punta na sa dealer."

But first things first. To be able to do this tutorial, make sure you have the following with you:
✅ USB flash drive
✅ Internet connection
✅ The upgrade .BIN file from SatLite (you can download below using the links)
✅ Of course, your working SatLite remote control
✅ WinRar or WinZip to extract the update file. After downloading, install the extractor.

Now, assuming that you are ready to go, follow the steps below.

How to Upgrade/Update SatLite Box to Latest Version


1. First, you need to check the version of your SatLite box whether it is Version 1 or Version 2.

It is Version 1 if your SatLite box has the < > symbols for changing channels. And it has the GUA-S2S1TMO18 box model found under the SatLite logo.
It is Version 2 if your SatLite box has the CH- and CH+ for changing channels and the S2S1TMO18 box model is found under the SatLite logo.

2. When you are sure what version you got, download the BIN files below. This is the file that contains the updates.
3. For this tutorial, I will download Version 2 because that's the one I got. After downloading, go to your file. For Version 2, the file name is GM_V2 (vGUA24)F 06-11-2021.rar. Right-click the .Rar file and then press Extract to GM_V2 (vGUA24)F 06-11-2021\.


4. After extracting, open the GM_V2 (vGUA24)F 06-11-2021 folder. And inside it, you will find the SatLite_Maui_V2_vGUA24_202106101727_338895a8.bin file. Leave your BIN file for now.

5. Get your USB flash drive and insert it in your laptop/computer USB port.

6. When your laptop/computer already read your USB flash drive, press Start (Windows logo) > This PC. Find your USB drive > right-click your USB drive > click Properties.
7. We need to check whether your USB flash drive has the "FAT32" format. You can see the FAT32 in the File system (see image below). When done, press the OK button to close the Properties.

8. If you found out that your USB flash drive is not yet in FAT32 format but in different one like NTFS, etc., then, you need to reformat your USB. But if your USB is already FAT32 then you can go to Step 9 already. To format:
  • In the Computer or This PC window, right-click your USB flash drive.
  • From the menu, click Format.
  • In the Format device name (drive letter) window, under File system, click the drop-down arrow, select FAT32.
  • At the WARNING… message, click OK to continue.
  • At the Format Complete message, click OK.
  • At the Format device name (drive letter) window, click Close.
9. Back to your .BIN file. Right-click your BIN file, press Send to > USB drive. See image below.
10. When done copying, you need to safely remove your USB flash drive in your computer/laptop USB port. To do this, just right-click the USB drive icon found near your computer time. In the menu that will appear, press Eject Mass Storage Device.

11. Now, get your USB. Open your TV and your SatLite box. Put your USB flash drive in the USB port located at the back of your SatLite box. See image below.

12. Your television will automatically display the message saying: Upgrade file detected. Would you like to upgrade the box software? Yes / No. 

To be able to select Yes, use your SatLite remote control. Press the Backward triangle button (See image below). When Yes is already selected, it should be colored Yellow. When done, press OK/LIST button.

13. Now, the System Setup > Software Upgrade will appear. You will also see there the Upgrade File with the name SatLite_Maui_V2_vGUA24_20210610 (for version 2). And below is Start.

To be able to select Start, just press the downward triangle button on your SatLite remote control. See image below. When Start is already selected it should be colored Yellow. And then press, OK/LIST button to start upgrade.

14. A message saying: Are you sure you want to upgrade the box software? will appear. Again, use your SatLite remote control backward triangle button to select Yes. When Yes is already selected it should be colored Yellow. And then press the OK/LIST button to Start.

15. Now, your SatLite box upgrade is in progress. Please note that do not turn off your box while doing this.


16. When the upgrade is done (100%), a message saying: Box software upgrade successful. The STB will now restart. will appear. Just let your television restart automatically.

17. After restarting, you need to check whether the upgrade takes effect or not. To validate your SatLite box upgrade. Get your SatLite remote again, find and press the DIAG button. See image below.

18. Inside System Setup > Diagnostics > Software Version, you will see there vGUA23 for Version 1 and vGUA24 for Version 2.

19. To exit, just press EXIT on your SatLite remote control.

20. Done! You have successfully upgraded your SatLite box without the need to go to your authorized dealer.

After the upgrade, I noticed that there are new channels like Cinema 1, MYX and more. But these channels are only free to view up until July 31, 2021.

Note: If the "Upgrade your box to software vSulit. Punta na sa dealer." is still appearing after a successful upgrade, according to SatLite Support, just ignore it.
